Music At The Center

Music At The Center is a program offered by The Diamond Valley Arts Center as a way to expose the community to varied Music Artists and Genres. The DVAC brings unique and varied Music Artists from Grammy Award winning Musicians to local talent to grace the Stage set in a hundred year old historic building in Hemet.
The intimate setting allows listeners the opportunity to truely experience music in an atmosphere dedicated to the listener.

Grammy Award Winning bluegrass musician, Dennis Caplinger will perform with his son Zachary for Music At The Center on October 7th at the Diamond Valley Arts Center, 123 N. Harvard St., Hemet, Ca. 92543. Admission is $20 for Non-Members and $15 for Members. This amazing father/son duo performs jazz, folk and of course - bluegrass music and you will be delighted by their instrumentation and vocal harmonies.



Grammy award-winner Dennis Caplinger is a multi-talented musician who has toured and recorded with many different artists including Bluegrass Etc., Vince Gill, Eric Clapton, Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen, Kenny Loggins, Juice Newton, B.J. Thomas, America, Byron Berline, Dan Crary, Richard Greene, Chris Thile, Sean Watkins, John Reischmann, Ray Park, Jann Browne, Kevin Welch, Kelly Willis, Ray Price, Rita Coolidge, Buck Howdy and The Academy of Country Music Awards Show Band.

His busy touring schedule as Banjoist/Fiddler with Bluegrass Etc. has taken him all over the world and yielded four critically acclaimed albums to date; “Home Is Where The Heart Is” was voted one of the top ten bluegrass recordings of the year for 1999 by the Chicago Tribune. A highly sought-after player/producer in the West-coast studio scene, he has worked on countless jingles, commercials, cartoons and movies and has his own production company based in Murrieta, Ca. Dennis is actively producing and playing on projects for CMH records’ popular “Pickin’ On” series – featured records he has been a part of include tributes to Eric Clapton, Santana, Creed, The Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, Bonnie Raitt, Jim Morrison, Queen, Neil Diamond, Dave Matthews Band, R.E.M., ZZ Top, Lynrd Skynrd, Black Crowes, Phish, Dolly Parton, Brooks and Dunn, Lonestar, Lee Ann Womack, Jo Dee Messina, Tim McGraw, Montgomery Gentry, Clint Black, Tracy Byrd, Counting Crows, Indigo Girls, LeeAnn Rimes and Rod Stewart. His movie soundtrack credits include “Back to the Future III”, “El Diablo”, “Rio Diablo”, Steven King’s “Apt Pupil” and “A Million Ways To Die in the West” among others. Dennis’ playing is featured on the HBO hit series “Deadwood”, Fox’s “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy”, Warner Bros. cartoons “Pinky and the Brain” and “Histeria”, as well as on numerous programs on PBS, A&E, TNN, Biography and The History Channel. Recent commercials include “New York Life”, “Supercuts”, “Subway Sandwiches”, “Home Depot”, “St. Joseph’s Aspirin”, “Applebees”, “Discover Card” featuring John Lithgow, and “Cingular Wireless”, which Dennis appeared in along with Bluegrass Etc. Dennis has recorded many times for Disney, and his music can be heard at attractions in Disneyland, Disneyworld and Tokyo Disneyland. Dennis has contributed to Banjo Newsletter and can be seen in the October 1999 issue of Bluegrass Now magazine, which contains a feature article on him.

Zachary Caplinger is a guitarist who actively performs jazz and bluegrass music throughout Southern California, and is a native to the Inland Empire. Born into a musical family, he began playing bluegrass guitar at eight years old, under the instruction of his father, two-time Grammy award winning bluegrass artist, Dennis Caplinger. Zachary has had the pleasure of performing at some of the largest bluegrass festivals in the Southwestern United States, and has shared the stage with many prominent bluegrass artists and bands including: Bluegrass Etc, Dennis Caplinger, John Moore, Steve Spurgin, Byron Berline, Roland White, Alan Munde, Bill Bryson, Scott Gates, Mike Nadolson, and Wayne Taylor.

MUSIC AT THE CENTER is a fundraiser for The DVAC and its programs.  Doors open at 6:30 pm with the concert beginning at 7:00pm.
